Hidden human side

ExploreWorldViews1025 views

“Psychiatry shows a facet of our being that usually remains hidden. Many so-called evident truths are revealed as errors. The clinical dialogue shows that many parents do not love their children but terrorize them, that sex is not always a source of joy but of anxiety and humiliation, and that socially successful people are not happy but often live in deepest depression. Not only the unusual stereotypes, but also many ethical and philosophical pictures of man appear as idealizations, behind which painful realities often remain undissolved.

How should this dark side of man be understood?”
